Get Up & Go is part of a county-wide falls prevention programme providing strength and balance exercise classes for older adults or those who have a fear of falling, had a fall or are at risk of falling.
Get Up & Go exercise classes help to improve strength, balance, mobility and confidence and are delivered by OTAGO exercise programme qualified instructors.
The Get Up & Go classes utilise OTAGO exercises which are evidence based in the prevention of falls, which is proven to:
Reduce falls
Reduce injury due to falls
Improve balance & strength
Improve ability to complete everyday tasks
Increase stamina
Improve mood
Improve confidence and independence
